 Invision Board Administration interface
I've used a number of free InvisionBoard hosting services, and each has been great, although each placed their share of ads throughout my forums. I've acquainted myself with the admin control panel now, but I still am not sure about placing my own ads there.
The Google Adsense program clearly states that you must not have more than 3 Adsense ads on each page, so I definitely can't put any more Adsense advertisements. However, I could probably edit the board wrapper to insert various kinds of promotional things. I just don't know how to code it.
